4/17/2024 0 Comments Total war rome 2 hardest factionYou have neither - your starting province is none-too-wealthy and expansion will bring you into conflict with multiple opponents, all of which will spam agents into your lands to stop your armies from defending your cities while their doom stacks take over. Reasons - You're in an awful position, unlike the other Black Sea colonies Chimmeria and Pergamon, who have room to expand and decently secure position. They also control Syria, one of the wealthiest regions on the map, second only to Egypt, so they have the economy to field the armies they're gonna need to survive. With tools at their disposal ranging from Elephants to Chariots to Hellenic Cataphracts, the Seleucids can usually find something in their arsenal appropriate to the situation. The reason they're only at #4 - the Seleucid Empire has one of the most diverse, efficient rosters in the game. On Legendary difficulties this means you have to split your forces to fend off 20-strong doom stacks from multiple angles, with sad little half-stack armies of your own. Egypt to your south is virtually guaranteed to also attack you, and you'll find yourself on a multi-front war right off the bat, forced to defend multiple flanks simultaneously. Reasons - Your eastern satrapies will declare independence and war on you almost immediately. Carthage hates your guts, but you can usually keep them at bay for a little while at least. I don't believe you start out at war with anyone so you're not immediately assaulted like some of the other factions I'm gonna mention soon. The reason they're at #5 - Rome usually is too busy with Carthage and/or the barbarian factions to the north to worry about you, so you've got a bit of time to build up your forces. You're stuck on a tiny island - and you start off only owning half of it. To take on the elephants and strong mercenary forces of Carthage and the unstoppable legions of Rome you have. Don't expect any help from your Hellenic brothers to the East, they've got their own problems and won't come to your aid anytime soon (nor will Massalia). Reasons - you start squished between Carthage and Rome, two of the strongest factions in the game, both of which would love to have your lands. Taking into account all elements, including starting position, end-game unit lineup, diplomatic situation, etc.ĭifficulty I'm talking about here is Legendary, all campaigns are pretty easy on Normal and even Hard. Nor counting mods that drastically affect game balance, aka Divide Et Imperia or Radious mod This is not counting mods that add factions - just base game + DLC here I just wanted to put this out here, just for the fun of it and to see the discussions from the rest of the Total War fanatics like me out there! :D Think we missed one?
